FdM:Arch was among several architecture firms asked to design dog houses to be auctioned to benefit the Animal Rescue Fund in Easthampton, NY. Our Deployable Doghouse is a geometric double cube that is both portable and can be deployed anywhere.
The Deployable Doghouse travels in a canvas custom carrying bag, is light, and quickly unfolds – so the architecture arises wherever the dog’s owner chooses to make a home. Teak wood struts support the simple tensile structure, which is a Cartesian double-cube. A gossamer tent inside takes its shape from the act of unfolding the doghouse.
